June 2013 Newsletter: President’s Message

Rebecca Branch, President

I appreciate each member and the contribution you made to make Pilot Club of Cullman’s successful this year.  Last June, I challenged you to assist in recruiting new members.  Thanks to you, we accomplished this with great success winning the Alabama District top awards for our club growth.  At this time our membership is forty two (42).  To accomplish our goals in the community through service and friendship we have a place for every member and their talents.

During this year our Club has participated in many projects and services.  To kick off the year, the Membership Committee held an event and invited ladies to become acquainted with Pilot. The event was successful and the membership increase has shown up each month as we welcome new members.

Where have you served outside of Pilot Club Projects? As Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce members, many Pilot members are serving on committees to make our community a better place.  In addition, you served at the Sheriff’s Rodeo serving 745 meals to special needs children; you provided a cook out and Christmas party for Margret Jean Jones Center clients; you donated money to the Field of Miracles in honor of Chester Freeman and assisted with scholarship money for clients to participate in activities. You served cornbread at the October Fest; you showed up at the Strawberry Festival and assisted with Senior Bingo. You assisted the Special Olympics by serving lunch.

Fundraising has been very successful this year.  Peggy Harris, Chair did an excellent job in working with all of you to help each fundraising project be successful. Project Lifesaver has been restored and is up and running very well.  Also, the Pilot Light Home received from you a large donation for their operation. It takes everyone working together to accomplish the successful year we have enjoyed.

Again, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE TO OUR COMMUNITY THROUGH THE PILOT CLUB OF CULLMAN.  Serving as your President during the last year has been very rewarding and something I shall never forget.  It was each of you and your unselfish service that made the year successful.

May God continue to bless you as you serve others.

President Rebecca Branch

The Board Members presented Rebecca Branch, President with a lovely bracelet that allows her to add charms.  The purpose of the gift was to express appreciation for service as President in the 2012-2013 Pilot Club Year.
